La sociedad de la nieve is a Spanish drama film from 2023, directed and written by J. A. Bayona, based on the book of the same name by Pablo Vierci, which in turn is based on the documentary by Gonzalo Arijón that recounts the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 in the Andes in 1972.

"The Snow Society was my second collaboration on a film with J.A. Bayona. I joined as additional support since they couldn't keep up with everything that needed to be drawn. It was a very rewarding film to bring to paper. Dynamic and fast-paced, everything takes place in a spectacular, poetic, and inhospitable environment. The location in the Andes where the plane crashed was recreated in 3D, and we could access it from our computers to virtually place ourselves within that vast setting and draw it from all the necessary angles.

There was a very positive energy among the whole team and around the shoot. On more than one occasion, I witnessed phone conversations between J. and some of the real survivors of the tragedy, aimed at verifying the facts.

It was impressive to see the final result on the big screen. I left the cinema feeling moved and grateful to have been part of LSDLN."
