Álvaro trained in Drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts in Olot, Girona (Catalonia), before specializing in Illustration at the Llotja School in Barcelona. He began his professional career in advertising and film, working as a shootingboard artist in collaboration with internationally acclaimed directors such as Nacho Gayan, Martin Kalina, and Nico Pérez Veiga, among many others. He also contributed to cinematography in productions directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible, 2011), Alejandro González Iñárritu (Biutiful, 2010), and Woody Allen (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, 2008)

Since 2005, his practice has been dedicated to the visual arts, with a particular focus on sculpture and installation. His work explores form, space, and materiality, reflecting a sustained engagement with environmental issues and both narrative and atmosphere.
