Vicky Cristina Barcelona is an American film written and directed by Woody Allen, filmed in the United States and Spain, specifically in Catalonia and Asturias. Filming began in July 2007 in Spain and ended at the end of August.

"Sylvia Steinbrecht, art director and friend, was the one who contacted me. The art department of the film Woody Allen was going to shoot in Barcelona needed to put on paper a series of locations. I remember the excitement of feeling involved in that production, which evoked the classics of cinema because of its director. I have never been a cinema scholar, but I have always been a good film viewer. I have grown up with cinema. It has been one of my main sources of inspiration for other artistic fields in which I work.

Drawing for the Art Department is a different kind of work compared to drawing a film in shooting boards hand in hand with the director. It is not about the action, but about its aesthetics. These are drawings that involve color and help define the look of the different spaces where the action takes place. It also meant that I would probably not have the pleasure of meeting the legendary Woody Allen in person."
